Can I go hiking in the area?

Ogliastra, the small province where our Hotel is situated, is characterized by a wonderful territory, with a unique combination of sea and mountain. The hotel organizes both excursions by sea along the spectacular coast of Orosei Gulf (by rubber boat or motor yacht) and different excursions into the country areas.

Moreover, you can always rely on the reception staff to rent boats with or without skipper, to discover the natural beauty of our Sardinian coast.

Which beaches or natural beauties would you recommend to visit in the area?

Not far from the hotel you can reach some of the most beautiful beaches of Ogliastra and on your arrival, with the precise instructions of our staff at the Reception, you can also visit, in full autonomy, the following sites:

  • The Lido di Orrì, with its beautiful beaches of fine sand, about 8 km from the Hotel;
  • Arbatax, a small fishing village just 1 km from the Hotel which is famous for its magnificent red rocks near the harbour;
  • The nuragic complex “S’Ortali ‘e su Monti”, which includes the nuragic complex of San Salvatore with a nuraghe (the typical house of ancient Sardinian inhabitants), a domus de janas (fairy home, in Sardinian language), a giants tomb of and some menhirs;
  • Santa Maria Navarrese, a small village by the sea about 15 km. from the Hotel, where you can visit the Church of the Blessed Virgin of the Assumption tracing back to the eleventh century, the ancient olive tree, the Moorish Tower and its beach;
  • Pedra Longa, the majestic spire that rises from the sea for 128 meters and falls into the deep blue waters. Defined by many as a rock of enormous size, it is actually a piece of mountain “downed from the surrounding cliff in remote times”. Pedra Longa (namely “high cliff”) was declared a natural monument in 1993;
  • The Caves of Ulassai, Su Marmuri, about half an hour’s drive from the Hotel. This large cavity, consisting of a succession of huge rooms, was formed because of the strength of the water that has dug an underground way: a part of this ancient path has been preserved to the present day.
How far are you from the airport?

The nearest airport is Cagliari Elmas and is 145 km from the hotel (Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport is 180 km away.)

Do you organize transfers from the airport?

Of course we do! We organize private transfers by car/van from all the airports and ports of Sardinia.

Can I rent cars or bicycles on site?

Of course! You can rent one of the hotel’s bicycles to visit the nearby beaches or reach the centre of Arbatax and contact the reception staff for a car rental: we work with trusted partners who will deliver the vehicle directly to the hotel.
